The Kenya Bike Odyssey is a true African adventure, spanning 1,000 kilometers of dirt roads and singletrack trails.
If you end up being eaten by a lion, I can live with that.

Starting in Nairobi, my journey took me through a stunning variety of landscapes, including towering mountains, lush forests, picturesque lakes, rugged wind-swept plains, red sand dunes, and vast, wild savannahs. Along the way, I immersed myself in the rich and diverse Kenyan culture, and pedaled alongside an abundance of wildlife such as zebras, giraffes, antelopes, warthogs, and elephants. The heart of this epic route formed a unique heart shape, offering an unparalleled experience that can’t be found anywhere else in the world.
The images from the first part of the journey capture how, as usual, I declared my endeavor crazy, started riding in the rain, and continued through tea plantations into increasingly lush greenery. I made new friends with a Kendama, was offered a rabbit (which I sadly had to decline due to space constraints), and experienced the incredible hospitality of these kind people. I was lucky that not all thorns are poisonous, encountered my first wild animals, and despite the stunning beauty, didn’t let the many colorful birds distract me—after all, I had a goal in mind. By chance, I ended up spending Christmas with a Japanese man with an onsen on a mountain, went to a gospel church on New Year’s, and made friends with a black and white monkey who made a massive jump from one tree into another. The kids were cheering, and I had to fix my luggage system to reach a beautiful lake where I was woken up by massive buffaloes that looked like boats, pink flamingos, and curious monkeys.
